Hello One, Hello All :D
This week was really good, especially because of the messages of General Conference we were allowed to listen to and review this week. I'm so grateful for the Lord's guidance and counsel through the apostles and prophets. :)
This past week Elder Jensen and I had the opportunity to try and do some Italian finding here in Berlin, which was a really fun experience. One day this week we went to an Italian Market, and we sat down and had a sandwhich and tried to talk to the people there. We were able to have a few conversations, and it was super cool to be able to speak and connect with them. I found out that there are actually a LOT of Italians in Berlin, they're just super concentrated wherever there is an Italian restaurant and/or Italian Market. XD
This Elder Rasband is visiting our mission to speak to us, and he's speaking to our members , so we are very VERY excited for that opportunity to hear from an apostle of God and learn and grow. Just from hearing the talks this past general conference and feeling the Spirit there, I know that these men are called of God, and I challenge all of you to take a talk from this past week, just one in particular that you really liked, and ponder it and do your best to incorporate just that one talk into your daily life this week. I know that as you incorporate our modern revelation from God through His prophets into your daily lives, that you will learn and grow. You will seel challenges, but you will also see the Hand of God. I promise and testify of that.
Recently I have taken up a more serious study of the Old Testament out here in the mission field, and I have been incredibly astounded and amazed at how much goodness there is in there. As I read of the stories of the prophets of old and their accounts of the miracles and wonders they'd seen and taken part in, I feel the Spirit so strongly, and I know that the Lord has led His people, those who would listen to Him, since the very beginning of time. One Scripture that really stuck out to me this past week was Ezekiel 34:12, which reads...
12 As a shepherd seeketh out his flock in the day that he is among his sheep that are scattered; so will I seek out my sheep, and will deliver them out of all places where they have been scattered in the cloudy and dark day.
...This statement from the Lord amazes me, and brings joy and grattitude to my heart to know that Jesus Christ is looking for all of us. I have had trials recently on the mission, and it became accutely aware to me how hard it is to do the right thing all the time, but when I read this scripture it reminds me that all we have to do is our best, and even when we find ourselves in cloudy or stormy dark days, we can have faith that the Lord is guiding us to safety, if we are listening to His words and focusing on Him.
I testify of the power of Jesus Christ in our lives, and I know that when we focus on the Lord that we will find our way, no matter how hard things become, no matter how lost we feel. As long as we do our best, we can know the Lord is by us, and that He will deliver us. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
